read my mind

Thursday, March 26

I realised yesterday how much I've come to think in language, specifically English. I have to form a coherent sentence in my head, sometimes even speak it out, before I let it go (Please don't think I'm crazy). Maybe as a result I'm not so good with the multi-tasking; I can't really listen to unfamiliar music while I study. And I always believe that whatever is going on around you, it all enters your mind even if you're only focused on one task.

I think it's our need to narrativise life, in order to make sense of the nonsense that surrounds us. Is this why we blog? Blogging is like talking to ourselves, even though we know there's at least someone out there reading. We create ourselves anew from whatever experience that shakes us, through words.

Is this why I'm an English Literature major? Haha.
