To you who hurt:
It's painful, but you'll become stronger.
I'm holding on to you, and I'm not letting go,
So remember: you can't let go of yourself
'Cause you have my hand to hold,
My shoulder to cry on
And my ears to speak to.
From me.

Oh dear... today was the first day of the preliminary exams... Mathematics Paper 1 and Economics Paper 3... which was the essay paper... gosh... had lots of time to spare... even fell asleep for a while... I wonder what Mrs Tan has to say to that. Everywhere I turned, people were furiously writing... and I was... bored. Haha...
Is this what life has to offer me? More and more essays to write about... and I probably wouldn't have any practical uses of the stuff I write... haha I'm being philosophical here... ignore me...

From Start Where You Are: A Guide to Compassionate Living by Pema Chodron, p. 124
Life is glorious, but life is also wretched. It is both. Appreciating the gloriousness inspires us, encourages us, cheers us up, gives us a bigger perspective, energizes us...On the other hand, wretchedness--life's painful aspect--softens us up considerably. Gloriousness and wretchedness need each other. One inspires us, the other softens us. They go together.
Found this somewhere...
