It's almost the end of my days at Anderson Junior College... too soon? I think so. We had our farewell party in the canteen yesterday, and although it seemed to start rather slowly, it soon gained steam as the party went on.
Howe Yuan was talking to me earlier on the phone about remembering a group of us, sitting in a circle, introducing ourselves... That was Orientation 2 2002, but I recall Orientation 1... it was definitely frightening at the time. Then was 35/02 in first 3 months, which laid the foundations of my impressions of the school. Talentime came soon, and a casual suggestion that we do 'Slave' for it soon became our obsession (well, mine at least) for the time leading up to the finals. I recall suddenly initiating Reva (that 'figment of our imagination', heh) into the whole thing because we needed someone to rap for us... and what an addition she made... hehe. I remember doing silly stuff like the Denim handshake, but I miss doing it still...
Then comes choir... I recall being hesitant to go for the auditions... waiting nervously in the lecture theatre... all those stuff. Meeting Joy 'cause we were in the same choir orientation group (she said, 'You're in my class, right?' We really didn't know anyone well at all!). Prague... was my first out-of-Asia experience... and it definitely showed me there was so much more to the world. The competition, training for it in Siglap, all the guys cramping in Tan En & Loh Wei aka Pa and Ah Bu's hotel room, waking up in the morning to go to the conference room in Hotel Opatov (I still remember!), the glorious sound of the competition hall! Also the 'Opening Hearts' performance... which showed me a little bit about professional cooperation. This year, we did so many things, initiated a new choir batch, had so much fun doing the choir orientation, preparing for SYF. 'Impressions' was just... weird to say the least... haha. I'm proud of our Gold, and I think not making it into the finals was just because there were really other choirs better than us, and I saw it for myself watching the finals. We did a professional recording of 'Amigos Para Siempre', and I think I did learn quite a bit from that. Other than that, I also remember the outings we had: steamboat at Marina, barbecue at East Coast... all that.
34/02 was just so... amazing. Meeting everyone for the first time, cooperating for PW, and having our disputes just made us learn more about ourselves and each other. Floorball, I recall that too... there are just so many experiences... so many memories... it can be overwhelming. That's about all I'll say...
