Typed the day after the event, but only added photos and posted 4th April. Oops.
Time for a new post.
Somehow, every time I actually have something to blog about, I compose the whole thing in my head, arranging points so that they tell a story. However, the moment I have my story in my head, it's filed away, and will probably never see the light of day. Yes. One more weird fact about Ryan that... you may have no interest whatsoever in. Ta-da.
Last night, Shirley, Daniel, Yonghui and I met up for dinner and to watch Olivia Ong at the Esplanade. We stuffed ourselves with Japanese food at Raffles City's Sushi Tei and took too many photos trying to capture the rising steam from the cups of green tea. Brilliant. The food was good, as can be expected of Sushi Tei I must say; apparently I'm going about all their branches, it's definitely better than Sakae haha, but I'm not sure about how it stands with Ichiban. The udon is probably better at Sushi Tei though.
Following which, we headed off to the Esplanade to listen to Olivia Ong sing. Well, that was the plan. How could we have known that it was the plan of so many others? By the time we were there the place was packed. We could only see Olivia's profile; she's quite tiny eh? Halfway through the first song we decided to leave; it was just too crowded for us to actually enjoy the performance. Sorry girls! What I'm not sorry about, is that we went to Max Brenner to make up for it! If you don't know what Max Brenner is (and if you don't your life has been lived in vain), it's a chocolate bar. No, not like a Hershey's or Cadbury. Pictures speak for themselves:
This was one of the few 'people' photos we took at Sushi Tei; we were busy trying to see if we could capture steam rising from our green tea cups on the camera. Could we? Well, if we could you'd see it here.
Outside the Esplanade.
These girls are so happy it's infectious.
Okay, so I wasn't impressed. But look at Daniel! He can't wait for the choco-orgy, as we call it, to happen.
You know, it just has to be done...
...which I did. Yum.
We actually didn't take a group photo at Max Brenner in the end, but I think this is good enough.
Simply the thought of last night's divine experience makes my mouth water. I can't wait to go back. Don't deny me my chocolate. No. Haha. Well, apparently my threshold for chocolate is way higher than the others; Yonghui's nick reads "chocolate overload", Daniel is a "willing victim of chocolate overload". Look at my nick: "chocolate will save us all". Heh. Well. Hope this was entertaining. I think I'll get the gang there next weekend. Muahaha.
